xSt. Michaels blows out Hamilton, 6-2

The xSt. Michaels Buzzers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Hamilton Red Wings.

xSt. Michaels was sparked by Marco Ferraro, who finished with one goal and one assist. Ferraro scored 11:43 into the second period to make the score 3-2 xSt. Michaels. Ted Hunt picked up the assist.

The Buzzers forced Hamilton goalie Mark Sinclair to work between the pipes, taking 65 shots. xSt. Michaels surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Buzzers average 3.5 goals per contest. xSt. Michaels was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages. The Buzzers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

xSt. Michaels also had goals scored by CJ Shugart, who had two and Nick Iafrate, David Italiano, and Thomas Beretta, who each put in one. More assists for xSt. Michaels came via Jake Clements, Danylo Znaczko, Ian Edmondson, and Jake Evans, who contributed one a piece and Stefano Pezzetta and Matt Alvaro, who each chipped in two.

The Red Wings' offense rang up 40 shots on xSt. Michaels' net.

Hamilton was helped by Justin Whitwell, who had one goal. Whitwell scored on the power play 18:19 into the first period to make the score 2-1 xSt. Michaels. The Red Wings had gotten the advantage when the Buzzers' Shugart was sent off for roughing. Cole Poliziani assisted on the tally. Hamilton also got a goal from Connor Bramwell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hamilton were Luke Sinclair, Brandon Kolaski, and Nathan Gomes, who contributed one a piece.

xSt. Michaels' Victor Adamo stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Buzzers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mark Sinclair made 59 saves for Hamilton on 65 shots. The Red Wings incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
