The Stouffville Spirit and the Hamilton Red Wings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Stouffville made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Robert Powers secured the win for the Spirit with a goal in the third period.

Stouffville got the win behind a great game by Nick Thomakos, who had two goals and one assist. Thomakos scored the first of his two goals at 11:05 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Stouffville. Powers assisted on the tally. Thomakos' next tally made the score 2-2 with 16:01 left in the third period. Powers picked up the assist.

Hamilton's power play was ineffective against the Spirit's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Stouffville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 10 Hamilton power plays. The Red Wings were unable to stop the Spirit from sending pucks towards the net, and Stouffville eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Spirit could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stouffville additionally got points from Powers, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Tyson Bruce also scored for Stouffville. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Michael Morgan, who had one and Matthew Heffernan, who had two.

Hamilton's offense rang up 31 shots on Stouffville's net.

The Red Wings were helped by Mitch Reid, who racked up one goal. Reid scored 13:47 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Luke Sinclair assisted on the tally. Hamilton also got a goal from Niko Porikos as well. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Matt Smith, who had one.

Daniel Mannella rejected 29 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Corey Foster made 31 saves for Hamilton on 35 shots. The Red Wings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
