Aurora blows out Orangeville, 6-1

The Aurora Tigers had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Orangeville Flyers.

Aurora was sparked by Matthew Bernard, who finished with one goal. Bernard scored 5:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Aurora. Jake Gilmour provided the assist.

The Tigers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Orangeville power plays. Aurora kept Orangeville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Welsh made 53 saves on 59 shots. The Tigers bested their season scoring average. Aurora has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of the Tigers were also effective in the Flyers' zone, and came away with two goals. Aurora could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Aurora additionally got points from Taylor McCloy, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Kyle Liu, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Robert Angiolella, who also registered one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Curtis Warren as well. More assists for Aurora came via Kory Kennedy, who had two and Tyler Boston, Travis Barron APMM, Eric Williams, Adam Power, Kevin Entmaa, and Calvin Higley, who contributed one a piece.

Orangeville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Devon Gillham also scored for Orangeville. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Kyle Thacker and Jake Derkach, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers' Entmaa stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Aurora registered three goals on seven power play opportunities.
