Aurora rips Mississauga, 5-0Aurora Community Centre Fri, Nov 08, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers were firing on all cylinders against the Mississauga Chargers, and when the final buzzer sounded Tigers emerged with a 5-0 win. Aurora was led by Eric Williams, who registered one goal and one assist. Williams scored on the power play 4:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. The Tigers had gotten the advantage when Mississauga's Alex Mills was sent off for high sticking. Noah Delmas provided the assist. Aurora's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mississauga power plays. The Tigers' defensive effort looked to be improved. Aurora averages 2.5 goals allowed per game. The Tigers' offense rang up 46 shots on the Chargers' net. Aurora additionally got points from Kory Kennedy, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Curtis Warren, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Taylor McCloy also scored for Aurora. In addition, Aurora received assists from Kyle Liu, Matthew Bernard, Adam Power, Mihkel Poldma, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one. Mississauga was held below its usual level of production. The Chargers put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. Mississauga's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Chargers finished with 20 penalty minutes. Aurora's Andy Munroe stopped 16 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Tigers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Austin Washkurak made 41 saves for Mississauga on 46 shots.
