Pickering vanquishes Lindsay in shootout, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Pickering Panthers defeated the Lindsay Muskies in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Lindsay got a shootout goal from Jake Ryan. Pickering also got a shootout goal from Nicholas Lepone.

The Panthers got the win behind a great game by Robert Cammalleri, who had one goal and two assists. Cammalleri scored 11:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pickering. Michael Walker picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, the Muskies were led by Stefan Von Egelbrechten, who finished with two goals and one assist. Von Egelbrechten scored the first of his two goals at 18:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Pickering. Patrick Morgan assisted on the tally. Von Egelbrechten's next tally made the score 2-2 with 1:02 left in the first period. Austin Eastman provided the assist.

Pickering forced Lindsay goalie Branden Francey to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Panthers bested their season scoring average. Pickering has scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Pickering also got points from Walker, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Pickering also got a goal from Lepone as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Tanner Shaw, who had two and Mark Tenuta and Brodie Tutton, who each chipped in one.

Austin Brown also scored for Lindsay. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Mathew Lewis, Brock Spear, and Logan DeNoble, who contributed one a piece.

Steven Dombrosky recorded 24 saves for the Panthers. Pickering incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Branden Francey made 32 saves for the Muskies on 36 shots. Lindsay incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
