Buffalo outlasts Cobourg, 4-2

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres and the Cobourg Cougars were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Buffalo made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nolan Sheeran at 6:46 of the second period.

The Jr. Sabres got the win thanks to a great game by Pat Egan, who had one goal and two assists. Egan scored 6:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Max Mikowski picked up the assist.

Ryan Kuhn also scored for Buffalo. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Nick Desimone and Ben Casale, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg was helped by Taylor Gauld, who finished with one goal. Gauld scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Buffalo. Alex D Oliveira provided the assist. Cobourg also got points from Landon Schiller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cobourg were Connor Armour, who had one.

Brandon Mueller made 22 saves for Buffalo on 24 shots. The Jr. Sabres incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nathan Perry recorded 23 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Cougars, Stuart King was ejected from the game.
