Oakville survives Milton comeback, wins 5-4

The Oakville Blades survived a determined comeback attempt by the Milton Icehawks on the way to a 5-4 win.

Oakville took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Milton storm back on a Michael Andlauer goal 15:27 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Ryan Garvey had a great game for the Blades, netting two goals.

Oakville found itself short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays. Team could not crack the Icehawks' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Chris Poletek also scored for Oakville. More assists for Oakville came via Mark Bzowey, Scott Goodman, Keigan Goetz, David Dischiavi, and Joe Seney, who each chipped in one and Kamil Tkaczuk and Ross Sloan, who contributed two a piece.

Milton's offense rang up 31 shots on the Blades' net. The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Milton also got points from Tye Campbell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Milton also got a goal from Kane Elliot as well. In addition, Milton received assists from Tyler Burns, Viktor Mueller, Cooper Richards, Shane Bennett, and Karndeep Natt, who each chipped in one.

Evan Buitenhuis recorded 27 saves for Oakville. The Blades ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dischiavi was ejected from the game. Milton's Ben Blacker stopped 25 shots out of the 30 that he faced. For the Icehawks, Ryan Burns was ejected from the game.
