Hladin's hat trick boosts Georgetown over Mississauga, 6-2

Steve Hladin lifted the Georgetown Raiders to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against the Mississauga Chargers.

Hladin's first goal came 2:49 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:49 into the second and at 9:33 into the third.

Georgetown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississauga to score on any of its four power plays. The Raiders forced the Chargers goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Georgetown's goal total was higher than its season average. The Raiders have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Georgetown also got points from Mitchell Kreis, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Adam Mascherin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Liam Clare, Ryan Smith, and Phil Kiss, who contributed one a piece and Michael Courvoisier, Liam Board, John Adams, and Adam Nanji, who each chipped in two.

Mississauga was helped by Cory Hyashi, who had one goal and one assist. Hyashi scored 14:47 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Georgetown. Stefano Alonzi provided the assist. Mark Rowe also scored for Mississauga. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Alex Mills, who had one.

Georgetown's Michael McNiven stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Austin Washkurak made 39 saves for the Chargers on 45 shots. Mississauga incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Chargers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mills was ejected from the game.
