The North York Rangers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Stouffville Spirit would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4. Stouffville made the score 5-2 on a goal by Joseph Deveny at 42 seconds in the third period, and North York got as close as 5-4 when Matthew Whittaker scored 19:50 into the third period. The Rangers were unable to stop the Spirit from sending pucks towards the net, and Stouffville eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Spirit were led by Robert Powers, who had one goal and three assists. Powers scored 7:22 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Stouffville. Justin Wain picked up the assist. Stouffville additionally got points from Michael Morgan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Stouffville also got a goal from Spencer Roberts as well. More assists for Stouffville came via Chad Burrows, Dakota Redshaw, Peyton Backus, and Nick Thomakos, who contributed one a piece. North York forced Stouffville goalie Daniel Mannella to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Rangers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Liam Kerins also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Corey Kalk, who had two and Patrick Piacentini, Fung Zachary, Alex Leader, and Michael Giacometti, who each chipped in one. Mannella rejected 30 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Spirit ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Michael Carcone was ejected from the game. Jason Pucciarelli recorded 28 saves for North York. The Rangers registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
