Toronto Lakeshore rolls over Lindsay, 5-1

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Toronto Lakeshore was led by Andreas Tsogkas, who racked up one goal and one assist. Tsogkas scored 5:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Lakeshore. Derek Topatigh APM provided the assist.

The Patriots forced Lindsay goalie Mathew Robson to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Nathan Feric, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Doug Bonar, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Kevin Shier, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Matthew McLeod as well. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Tyler Currie and Niko Kovachis, who contributed two a piece.

The Muskies' offense operated below they season average. Lindsay averages 3.1 goals per game. The Muskies could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lindsay was led by Jake Ryan, who scored the team's only goal. Ryan scored 9:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Vince Herlihey assisted on the tally.

Jeremy Helvig rejected 19 shots on goal for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Robson recorded 37 saves for the Muskies. Lindsay registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
