Pickering stifles Aurora's comeback, gains 5-3 victory

The Pickering Panthers, who led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Pickering and clinched a 5-3 victory.

The Panthers led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Pickering's Doug Carter's scored at 9:00 in the first period to put the Panthers up 4-0.

Mike Nedoszytko was all over the ice for Pickering, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Nedoszytko scored 10:45 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Pickering. Kollin Schultz assisted on the tally.

The Panthers bested their season scoring average. This season, Pickering averages 2.8 goals per contest.

Pickering also got points from Schultz, who also had one goal and one assist, Mark Tenuta, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Brodie Tutton, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Pickering came via Corey Helliwell, Ian Chen APM, and Michael Walker, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers were unable to stop the Aurora Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

The Tigers were helped by Adam DiBrina, who registered one goal. DiBrina scored 8:09 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Pickering. Michael Keenan picked up the assist. Aurora additionally got points from Dylan Sikura, who also had one goal and one assist and Kory Kennedy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Aurora received assists from Taylor McCloy, who had one.

Steven Dombrosky made 29 saves for Pickering on 32 shots. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kevin Entmaa made two saves before being replaced by Andy Munroe, who took the loss and made 14 saves. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
