Hamilton beats Toronto 5-4 after comeback scareChesswood Arena Sun, Oct 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Toronto Junior Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Hamilton Red Wings held on for a 5-4 victory. A goal by Josh LaFrance put Hamilton up 5-3 in the third period, but Toronto pulled to within one on Daniel Harquail's tally 12:51 into the third period. The Red Wings were led by LaFrance, who tallied one goal. LaFrance scored 5:26 into the third period to make the score Hamilton. Luke Sinclair picked up the assist. Hamilton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Toronto power plays. Hamilton also got points from Ryan Laufman, who also registered one goal and one assist and Mitch Reid, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Hamilton also got a goal from Connor Bramwell as well. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Corey Caruso, who had two and Garnet Batrynchok and Niko Porikos, who contributed one a piece. The Junior Canadiens kept the Red Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mark Sinclair made 34 saves on 38 shots. Mark Spadafora also scored for Toronto. More assists for Toronto came via Jake Walman, Sal Filice, and Anthony Repaci, who each chipped in one and Joseph Benvenuto and Aaron Spivak, who contributed two a piece. Hamilton incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Nathan Colitto rejected 23 shots on goal for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
