The Lindsay Muskies tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Wellington Dukes held on for a 5-3 victory. Wellington made the score 5-2 on a goal by Erick Delaurentis at 1:58 in the third period, and Lindsay got as close as 5-3 when Logan DeNoble scored 13:09 into the third period. The Dukes got the win thanks to a great game by Steven Deeg, who had two goals and one assist. Deeg scored the first of his two goals at 5:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wellington. Delaurentis provided the assist. Deeg's next tally made the score 3-0 Wellington with 4:37 left in the first period. Delaurentis assisted on the tally. Wellington's offense rang up 38 shots on the Muskies' net. Wellington additionally got points from Mike Soucier, who also registered one goal and one assist, Delaurentis, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Cody Gratton, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Wellington received assists from Kyle Paat, who had one and Andrew Coupland, who had two. Lindsay forced the Dukes goalie Adam Wood to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Lindsay also got points from Vince Herlihey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from James Sterne as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Austin Brown, Bryce Sweeting, and Joseph Vocino, who contributed one a piece. Wood recorded 29 saves for Wellington. The Dukes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Muskies' Branden Francey stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Lindsay incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
