The North York Rangers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Milton Icehawks on the way to a 3-2 win. North York made the score 3-1 on a goal by Phillip Chadder at 18:43 in the second period, and Milton got as close as 3-2 when Ryan Burns scored 10:48 into the third period. John Carpino had a great game for the Rangers, netting two goals. Carpino found the back of the net on the power play 14:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York and again while on the power play 11:52 into the second to make the score 2-1 North York. The Icehawks were unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. North York was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on 10 chances. The Rangers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as North York finished with 30 penalty minutes. In addition, North York received assists from Fung Zachary, who had two and Corey Kalk, Liam Kerins, and Louis Kereakou, who contributed one a piece. Milton's offense rang up 35 shots on the Rangers' net. The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Milton had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 12 chances. Kane Elliot also scored for Milton. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Shane Bennett, who had two and TJ Fergus and Tye Campbell, who each chipped in one. Gianluca Baggetta made 33 saves for North York on 35 shots. Ben Blacker rejected 46 shots on goal for the Icehawks.
