Georgetown rips Milton, 8-1

The Georgetown Raiders were firing on all cylinders against the Milton Icehawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Raiders emerged with an 8-1 win.

Anthony Marra was all over the ice for Georgetown, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Marra scored 6:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. John Adams assisted on the tally.

The Raiders forced Icehawks' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 53 shots and forcing 45 saves. Tyler Lewis made 18 stops and Ben Blacker made 27. Georgetown bested its season scoring average. This season, the Raiders average 3.5 goals per contest. Georgetown capitalized on Milton's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.

Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Ryan Smith, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Liam Board, who also registered one goal and two assists, Adams, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Adam Nanji, who also had one goal and two assists. Scott Emerson also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Mitchell Kreis and Luke Sanko, who contributed one a piece.

The Icehawks were led by Bryce Abraham, who scored the team's only goal. Abraham scored on the power play 10:57 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Milton earned a power play opportunity when Nanji was put in the box for roughing after whistle. TJ Fergus picked up the assist.

Michael Stiliadis rejected 14 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icehawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
