Whitby holds on for 4-2 win against Lindsay

The Whitby Fury survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lindsay Muskies on the way to a 4-2 win.

Whitby made the score 4-1 on a goal by Keegan Cairns at 13:31 in the second period, and Lindsay got as close as 4-2 when Vince Herlihey scored 10:04 into the third period.

The Fury were sparked by Taylor Best, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Best scored short handed 10:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Whitby. Whitby played down a man on Mitch Emerson's slashing. Jonathan OHara picked up the assist.

The Fury found themselves short handed often, totaling 20 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Whitby also got points from Marcus Crawford, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Whitby also got a goal from Jeff Murray as well. In addition, Whitby received assists from Adam Clements, who had two and Troy Oakley and Marco Azzano, who each chipped in one.

More assists for Lindsay came via Austin Brown, Brandon Washer, Bryan Hignett, and Jacob Walters, who contributed one a piece.

Whitby's Tyler Feaver stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Fury registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Branden Francey rejected 25 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
