Wood, Wellington blank Stouffville, 4-0

The Wellington Dukes used a sparkling performance by Adam Wood to take down the Stouffville Spirit, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Wellington's 4-0 shutout victory.

Mike Soucier was all over the ice for the Dukes, as he racked up two goals in the win. Soucier's tallies came at 11:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellington and on the power play 17:21 into the third to make the score 4-0 Wellington.

Wellington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Stouffville power plays. The Dukes featured an improved defense during the game. Wellington gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. The Dukes' offense rang up 33 shots on Stouffville's net.

Trevor Cope also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Andrew Coupland, Luc Brown, Parker Wood, Josh Supryka, Spencer Turcotte, Joe McKeown, Cody Gratton, and Maurizio Colella, who contributed one a piece.

The Spirit's offense operated below they season average. Stouffville averages 3.6 goals per game.

Wood rejected 26 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tim Bester made 29 saves for the Spirit on 33 shots. Stouffville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
