Bessette, St. Michaels blank Milton, 4-0

Bo Bessette was superb between the pipes for the St. Michaels Buzzers, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Milton Icehawks.

St. Michaels was paced by Ashur Elliot, who tallied one goal. Elliot scored 12:50 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Ted Hunt provided the assist.

The Buzzers forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. St. Michaels had been averaging 12.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Buzzers stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Michaels' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Icehawks. The Buzzers gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. St. Michaels' offense rang up 35 shots on Milton's net.

St. Michaels also got points from David Italiano, who also had one goal and two assists. St. Michaels also got a goal from Bron Loiselle as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Jake Evans, who had two and Danylo Znaczko, Matt Pepler, and CJ Shugart, who each chipped in one.

The Icehawks were held below their usual level of production. Milton puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. The Buzzers were unable to stop the Icehawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Milton eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Icehawks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Bessette rejected 31 shots on goal for St. Michaels. The Buzzers registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For St. Michaels, Nick Iafrate was ejected from the game. Tyler Lewis recorded 31 saves for Milton. The Icehawks registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
