Cobourg falls to Toronto Lakeshore in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Marcus Rose gave the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Cobourg Cougars when he scored 4:51 into the extra period.

Toronto Lakeshore overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Patriots was down 4-2 after a power play goal by Cobourg's Kenzie Smith at 2:30 in the third period. Toronto Lakeshore tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kevin Shier at 14:53 in the third period.

Rose had a great game for the Patriots, netting two goals.

Toronto Lakeshore forced the Cougars goalie Mathieu Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Shier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Rory Bell as well. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Doug Bonar, Nicholas Ursitti, and Michael Prapavessis, who contributed one a piece and Andreas Tsogkas, Matthew McLeod, and Louis DiMatteo, who each chipped in two.

Cobourg was helped by Stuart King, who finished with one goal. King scored 1:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Kieran Milne assisted on the tally. Cobourg additionally got points from Liam Grande, who also registered one goal and one assist. Theo Lewis also scored for Cobourg. Other players who recorded assists for Cobourg were TJ Melancon, Jake Emilio, Chris Turner, Conner Hogg, and Connor Armour, who contributed one a piece.

Jeremy Helvig made 24 saves for the Patriots on 28 shots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ouellet recorded 28 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
