Georgetown falls to Milton in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Shane Bennett gave the Milton Icehawks a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Georgetown Raiders when he scored 4:58 into the extra period.

Milton's Ben Blacker was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 46 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Blacker will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.34.

The Icehawks were sparked by Bennett, who grabbed one goal.

Milton forced Raiders' netminders to work between the pipes, finishing with 31 shots and forcing 29 saves. Michael Singh made 28 stops and Michael Stiliadis made one.

Milton also got a goal from Kane Elliot as well. More assists for Milton came via Ryan Burns, who had two and Troy Saunders and Daniel Poutscongas, who each chipped in one.

Georgetown stifled the Icehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders' offense operated below they season average. Georgetown averages 3.8 goals per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 47 shots on Milton's net.

Georgetown was led by Liam Board, who scored the team's only goal. Board scored 18:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. Steve Hladin provided the assist.

The Icehawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Raiders incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
