The Georgetown Raiders almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Newmarket Hurricanes managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Newmarket led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Hurricanes' Nik Coric's scored at 2:17 in the second period to put Newmarket up 5-2. The Hurricanes made Georgetown's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Michael Stiliadis made eight stops and Michael Singh made 19. Newmarket was helped by Matt Marsden, who tallied one goal. Marsden scored 2:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Newmarket. Brandon Basler-APM assisted on the tally. Newmarket additionally got points from Brandon Francisco, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Anthony Trujillo, who also had one goal and one assist. Trevor Petersen also scored for Newmarket. More assists for Newmarket came via Kyle Stephan, Cameron Nicoll, Henry Stafferton, Christian Dedonato, Taylor Joseph, Justin Maiolino, Max Healy, and Ian Farrell, who each chipped in one. The Raiders kept the Hurricanes' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jake Danson made 40 saves on 44 shots. Georgetown was helped by Adam Nanji, who racked up one goal. Nanji scored 4:08 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Newmarket. Ryan Smith picked up the assist. Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Georgetown also got a goal from Liam Clare as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Gavin Shantz, Anthony Marra, Richard Court, and Liam Board, who contributed one a piece. Newmarket incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
