Higley nets hat trick, leads Aurora to 5-2 win over Toronto LakeshoreAurora Community Centre Fri, Sep 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Calvin Higley was the highlight in Tigers' 5-2 win against the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots. Higley notched his first tally 3:43 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:52 into the third and at 15:23 into the third.The Aurora Tigers stifled Toronto Lakeshore's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Patriots were unable to stop Aurora from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Aurora bested its season scoring average. This season, the Tigers average 2.7 goals per contest. Aurora also got points from Noah Delmas, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Adam DiBrina also scored for Aurora. In addition, Aurora received assists from Taylor McCloy, Drake Board, Eric Williams, Matthew Bernard, Mihkel Poldma, Jordan Peacock, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one. Toronto Lakeshore was led by Chris Sekelyk, who grabbed two goals. Sekelyk scored the first of his two goals at 8:51 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Luke Carter picked up the assist. Sekelyk's next tally made the score 2-2 with 8:16 left in the second period. Nicholas Ursitti provided the assist. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Niko Kovachis, who had one. Kevin Entmaa rejected 20 shots on goal for Aurora. The Tigers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mark Manolescu recorded 30 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
