The Newmarket Hurricanes relied on the scoring touch of Brandon Francisco, who netted two goals, to beat the Pickering Panthers, 7-4.

Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Shaquille Hickey, who had two and Kyle Stephan, Cameron Nicoll, Trevor Petersen, Thomas Beretta, Taylor Joseph, Anthony Trujillo, Max Healy, and Ian Farrell, who each chipped in one.

Pickering was led by Brodie Tutton, who finished with two goals and one assist. Tutton scored the first of his two goals at 18:52 into the first period to make the score 2-2.
