The Newmarket Hurricanes relied on the scoring touch of Brandon Francisco, who netted two goals, to beat the Pickering Panthers, 7-4. Francisco's tallies came at 8:42 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Newmarket and short handed 9:49 into the third to make the score 5-4 Newmarket.Newmarket also got points from Justin Maiolino, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Newmarket included Nik Coric, who had two and Adam Smith and Ferdinando Colella, who each put in one.
