Kanata downs Gloucester in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Kanata Stallions' Nic LaBurn scored 27 seconds into overtime to beat the Gloucester Rangers, 4-3 (OT).

Braedan Moffatt was all over the ice for Kanata, as he had two goals in the win. Moffatt scored at 6:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata and again while 11:14 into the first to make the score 2-0 Kanata.

The Stallions forced Gloucester goalie Doug Johnston to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Kanata also got a goal from Kasey Kulczycki as well. More assists for Kanata came via Chris Harper, David Higgs, Jeremy Carignan, Connor Cobbold, Devin Fullum, and Alex Stothart, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Gloucester wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Rangers were helped by Ethan MacLean, who finished with one goal. MacLean scored 16:36 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Vincent Guimond picked up the assist. Others who scored for Gloucester included Max Veronneau and Greg Jansz, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Matt Rosebrook, who had two and Dylan McDiarmid, Tyler ONeill, and Zackhary Salloum, who contributed one a piece.

Kanata's Cole Skinner stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Johnston rejected 27 shots on goal for Gloucester. The Rangers registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
