Ottawa downs Pembroke, 4-1

Yannick Crete had two points to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 4-1 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Senators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ottawa also had goals scored by Justin Charbonneau, Eric Clitsome, and Matthew Dupont, who each put in one. More assists for Ottawa came via Michael Evelyn, who had two and Ryan Collins, Joey Champigny, and Thomas Crevier, who contributed one a piece.

Pembroke could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Lumber Kings average 3.5 goals per game. Pembroke struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 21 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays.

Alexandre Savard-Belanger rejected 16 shots on goal for Ottawa. Darren Smith took the loss and made 17 saves before being replaced by Sean Keating who made nine saves. The Lumber Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Erickson was ejected from the game.
