The game between the Kanata Stallions and the Ottawa Senators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kanata emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Stefan Valvur secured the win for the Stallions with a goal in the third period.

Nic LaBurn was all over the ice for Kanata, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. LaBurn scored the first of his two goals at 16:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kris Myllari assisted on the tally. LaBurn's next tally made the score 3-2 Kanata with 1:56 left in the second period. Derian Plouffe picked up the assist.

Ottawa was unable to stop the Stallions from sending pucks towards the net, and Kanata eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Kanata also got points from Jeremy Carigan, who also finished with one goal and one assist.

The Senators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kanata power plays. Ottawa forced the Stallions goalie Cole Skinner to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

The Senators were helped by Hunter Racine, who tallied one goal. Racine scored 8:02 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Ottawa additionally got points from Yannick Crete, who also had one goal and one assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Robert Michel as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Ryan Collins and Joey Champigny, who contributed one a piece.

Skinner recorded 29 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ottawa's Alexandre Savard-Belanger stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Senators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
