St.Pierre's goals lift Cumberland to 4-1 victory over Ottawa

Maxime St.Pierre was all over the ice for the Cumberland Grads, as he tallied two goals in Cumberland's 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

St.Pierre found the back of the net 2:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cumberland and again while 19:09 into the third to make the score 3-1 Cumberland.

The Grads' Reilly Turner was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 42 saves and let only one puck past him. Turner certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.35 entering the contest.

Cumberland forced Ottawa goalie Alexandre Savard-Belanger to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Cumberland also had goals scored by Travis Douglas and Dylan McDonald, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cumberland were Matthew Morin, who had two and Bobby Williams and Bruno Cheff, who each chipped in one.

The Senators did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Ottawa puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. The Senators' offense rang up 43 shots on the Grads' net.

Ottawa was led by Joey Champigny, who scored the team's only goal. Champigny scored on the power play 11:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Senators had gotten the advantage when Cumberland's Cheff was sent off for holding. Eric Clitsome picked up the assist.

The Grads incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Savard-Belanger rejected 31 shots on goal for Ottawa. The Senators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
