Kanata rolls over Kemptville, 6-3

The Kanata Stallions had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Kemptville 73s.

In a losing effort, Kemptville was led by Matt Tugnutt, who grabbed two goals. Tugnutt scored the first of his two goals at 19:55 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Kanata. C Quinn provided the assist. Tugnutt's next tally made the score 3-3 with 17:42 left in the second period. Aaron Hickie picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, the 73s were led by Tugnutt, who tallied two goals.

Kanata stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stallions found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Kanata averages 3.8 goals per game.

The Stallions were led by Alex Stothart, who racked up one goal and one assist. Stothart scored 6:21 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Kanata. Jeremy Carigan assisted on the tally. Kanata additionally got points from Jason Brochu, who also had one goal and two assists and Devin Fullum, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kanata also got a goal from Chris Harper as well. More assists for Kanata came via Trent Yule, Nic LaBurn, Hubert Pare-Seguin, and Connor Cobbold, who each chipped in one.

The 73s kept Kanata's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 38 saves on 41 shots.

Olivier Chabot also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Cody Hendsbee, Erik Brown, Alex Row, and Hayden Hanson, who contributed one a piece.

The Stallions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kemptville's starting goalie, Jacob Lucier, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Jacob Tugnutt, who stopped three shots. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
