Kanata rips Cumberland, 6-2

The Cumberland Grads had trouble finding ways to stop the Kanata Stallions, which beat Grads, 6-2.

Kanata was paced by Ben Fanjoy, who tallied one goal. Fanjoy scored on the power play 7:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kanata. The Stallions had gained a power play chance when Tielen Celentano was whistled for interference. Jason Brochu provided the assist.

Kanata outdid its season average for goals scored. The Stallions have scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kanata additionally got points from Brochu, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kanata also got a goal from Chris Harper as well. In addition, Kanata received assists from Ian Johnson, who had two and JP Langlois, Nic LaBurn, Hubert Pare-Seguin, Jeremy Carigan, Connor Cobbold, and Stefan Valvur, who contributed one a piece.

Cumberland was helped by Maxime St.Pierre, who racked up one goal. St.Pierre scored 14:50 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Kanata. Martin Frechette picked up the assist. Bobby Williams also scored for Cumberland. Other players who recorded assists for Cumberland were Jean-Gabriel Lacombe and Nicholas Ngwafusi, who each chipped in one.

Gunner Rivers made 28 saves for Kanata on 30 shots. The Stallions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Reilly Turner rejected 24 shots on goal for the Grads. Cumberland incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
