Faucher nets hat trick, leads Hawkesbury to 6-3 win over Kanata

Carl Faucher netted a hat trick to lead the Hawkesbury Hawks over the Kanata Stallions, 6-3.

Faucher's first goal came 18:18 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:49 into the second and at 2:19 into the third.

Hawkesbury managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Hawks wound up below its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Hawkesbury forced Kanata goalie Cole Skinner to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Hawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Hawkesbury averages 2.7 goals per contest.

Hawkesbury also had goals scored by Hugo Petit, who had one and Zach Car, who had two. More assists for Hawkesbury came via David Higgs, who had two, Yanik Laliberte, who had three, and Daniel Brickley, Trent Durocher, Joshua Renaud, Jonathan Tecce, Jacob Soyka, and Michael Guerrera, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks were unable to stop the Stallions from sending pucks towards the net, and Kanata eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Stallions were helped by Devin Fullum, who registered one goal. Fullum scored 19:24 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Kanata. Alex Stothart picked up the assist. JP Langlois also scored for Kanata. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Braedan Moffatt, who had two and Nic LaBurn and Jeremy Carigan, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Jenkins rejected 32 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Skinner recorded 31 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
