Huge game by Clitsome boosts Ottawa over Kanata, 11-4

The Ottawa Senators' Eric Clitsome had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 11-4 win over the Kanata Stallions.

Clitsome scored on the power play at 16:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 7:22 into the second to make the score 7-1 Ottawa.

Kanata was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Ottawa was able to score four times while on the power play.

The Senators' goal total was higher than their season average. Ottawa averages 5.1 goals per game.

Ottawa additionally got points from Ryan Collins, who also had two goals and one assist, Robert Michel, who also registered two goals and one assist, Deric Boudreau, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Nicholas Ford, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Hunter Racine, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Chris King as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Justin Charbonneau, who had three, Matthieu Desautels and Joey Champigny, who each chipped in one, and Shawn Lynch, Greg Jansz, and Zac Tierney, who contributed two a piece.

The Stallions were led by Jason Brochu, who finished with one goal and two assists. Brochu scored 6:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Alex Robinson also scored for Kanata. More assists for Kanata came via Kris Myllari, Ian Johnson, and Ben Fanjoy, who each chipped in one.

Alexandre Savard-Belanger rejected 16 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For the Senators, Chad Millett was ejected from the game. Kanata's starting goalie, Justin Villenuve, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Brayden St-Germain, who stopped 10 shots. The Stallions incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
