Team Midwest shrugs off penalties, upends Team Michigan, 6-3

Team Midwest's penalty kill was superb, as Team Midwest survived multiple penalties to beat Team Michigan, 6-3.

Team Midwest was sparked by Lukas Daniels, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Daniels scored 3:57 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Team Midwest. Cory Kettler assisted on the tally.

Team Midwest's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Team Michigan power plays. Team Midwest could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Team Midwest also got a goal from Timothy Santopoalo as well. In addition, Team Midwest received assists from Alexander Turin and Taylor Brown, who each chipped in one.

Alex Reichle made 14 saves before being replaced by Clint Steinmeyer, who took the win and made 12 saves. Team Midwest registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Team Michigan's starting goalie, Spencer Craig, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Anders Franke, who stopped eight shots. Team Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
