Team Ohio wins tough contest against Team Minnesota, 5-3

Team Ohio gutted out a close 5-3 win against Team Minnesota.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Mike Palasics at 14:37 of the third period.

Team Ohio was led by Palasics, who had one goal.

Team Ohio managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Team Ohio ended up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. Team Minnesota was unable to stop Team Ohio from sending pucks towards the net, and Team Ohio eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Team Ohio outdid its season average for goals scored. Team Ohio averages 2.7 goals per game.

Team Ohio additionally got points from Brandon Layman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Team Ohio also got a goal from Michael Straub as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team Ohio were Thomas Leistner and Josh Hosking, who each chipped in one and Jordan Fogarty and Tom Diffendal, who contributed two a piece.

Team Minnesota excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Team Minnesota's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Team Minnesota was led by Jared Sprink, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Sprink scored 10:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zac Sikich picked up the assist. Isaac Hale also scored for Team Minnesota. More assists for Team Minnesota came via Ian Ecklund, Chase Myers-Beck, Alex Yde, and Dylan Nelson, who each chipped in one.

David Heflin made 14 saves before being replaced by Joseph Moza, who took the win and made nine saves. Erikur Arnason made 30 saves for Team Minnesota on 35 shots. Team Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
