Hudson's big game bests Team Michigan in 5-2 Team Central win

Kole Hudson had one goal and two assists to lead Team Central to a 5-2 victory over Team Michigan.

Hudson scored 13:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Team Central. Hudson dished an assist on Hunter Zandee's goal that made the score 1-0 Team Central at 4:00 into the first period. He added another helper on Kai Robinson's goal that made the score 5-2 Team Central at 11:51 into the third period.

Team Central made Team Michigan's goalies to work all game long, taking 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Nick Light made 16 stops and Matthew MacInnis made 10. Team Central managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Team Central ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game.

Alex Klaesner also scored for Team Central. In addition, Team Central received assists from Ryan Cagnoni and Braden Cooper, who each chipped in one.

Team Michigan forced Team Central's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 32 shots and forcing 30 saves. Bradley Amato made 18 stops and Jaxson Gosnell made 12. Team Michigan managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Team Michigan wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game.

Team Michigan was helped by Ian Wiljanen, who finished with one goal. Wiljanen scored 2:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Team Central. Tyler Bishop provided the assist. Team Michigan also got a goal from Jared Pike as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team Michigan were Jairus Schulte, who had one.

Team Central registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Team Michigan registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
