Amarillo squeaks by Texas, 5-3

The Amarillo Bulls and the Texas Tornado were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Amarillo made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brady Ferguson at 14:10 of the third period.

The win by the Bulls clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

Amarillo was led by Ferguson, who grabbed one goal.

Amarillo also got points from Omar Mullan, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Ryan Cole, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Blake Roubos also scored for Amarillo. Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Garret Peterson, Tyler Deresky, Tyler Rostenkowski, and Matt Sieckhaus, who each chipped in one.

Texas was helped by Mitchell McPherson, who registered one goal. McPherson scored 18:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jason Eddy picked up the assist. Texas also got a goal from Nick Neville as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Max Shuart, Brandon Platt, and Justin Greenberg, who contributed one a piece.

Paul Berrafato recorded 24 saves for the Bulls. Amarillo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Tornado's Hunter Leisner stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Texas totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
