Chris Truehl was superb between the pipes for the Johnstown Tomahawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Port Huron Fighting Falcons. Johnstown evened the best of three series at 1-1 and forced a deciding game three. The Tomahawks' penalty kill excelled, as Johnstown gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Tomahawks were led by Jeff Bergh, who grabbed one goal. Bergh scored 6:45 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Johnstown. Johnstown stifled Port Huron's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Johnstown also got a goal from Cobi Smith-Mass as well. In addition, Johnstown received assists from Connor Wright and Brandon Reinholz, who each chipped in one. The Fighting Falcons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Johnstown power plays. Port Huron kept the Tomahawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Truehl made 33 saves on 33 shots. The Fighting Falcons were led by Payden Mielke, who took four shots. Johnstown incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Port Huron's Max Milosek stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Fighting Falcons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
