Carleton Place downs Cornwall, 6-3

The Carleton Place Canadians won 6-3 over the Cornwall Colts.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Cornwall faces elimination next time out.

The Colts were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Carleton Place was helped by Alex Globke, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Globke scored 7:43 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Carleton Place. Brock Edwards assisted on the tally. Carleton Place additionally got points from Christian Weidauer, who also had one goal and one assist and Evan Peterson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Carleton Place also got a goal from Kevin Dufour as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Luke Kasteel, Garrett Moore, and Alex Frere, who contributed one a piece.

Cornwall was helped by Brandon Howes, who registered two goals. Howes scored the first of his two goals at 11:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael Pontarelli picked up the assist. Howes' next tally made the score 2-1 Cornwall with 4:07 left in the first period. Billy Ulrick provided the assist. Cornwall also got points from Pontarelli, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Pietro Antonelli and Mitch Zion, who each chipped in one.

The Canadians' Brendan Oneill stopped 14 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jordan Piccolino made 39 saves for the Colts on 44 shots. Cornwall ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
