Norris lifts Nepean over Ottawa, 3-0

Brent Norris had two goals to lead the Nepean Raiders to a 3-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Norris' tallies came on the power play at 1:55 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Nepean and 18:48 into the third to make the score 2-0 Nepean.

With the win, Nepean evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Matt Zawadzki spearheaded the defensive effort for the Raiders, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 32 saves for the shutout. Zawadzki managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.47 prior to the game.

Nepean pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Ottawa power plays. Nepean forced Ottawa goalie Charlie Millen to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Dalen Hedges also scored for Nepean. In addition, Nepean received assists from Cory Durocher, Phil Nasca, Cameron Yarwood, and Michael Vered, who contributed one a piece.

The Senators' offense rang up 32 shots on the Raiders' net.

Nepean registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Millen recorded 32 saves for Ottawa. The Senators incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
