Galati's big game bests North York in 5-2 St. Michaels win

Matt Galati had two goals and one assist to lead the St. Michaels Buzzers to a 5-2 victory over the North York Rangers.

Galati found the back of the net 4:42 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 19:04 into the third to make the score 5-2 St. Michaels.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, North York faces elimination next time out.

The Rangers were unable to stop St. Michaels from sending pucks towards the net, and the Buzzers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Jordan Merante, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Stephen Pietrobon also scored for St. Michaels. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Jared Walsh, who had one, Troy Josephs, who had two, and Shane Conacher, who had four.

North York was helped by Dana Tenenbaum, who racked up one goal. Tenenbaum scored 9:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York. Lapierre Charles assisted on the tally. North York also got a goal from Ryan Kinsella as well. In addition, North York received assists from Taylor Pryce and Michael Giacometti, who each chipped in one.

St. Michaels' Adrian Ignagni stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Buzzers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play. St. Michaels ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bron Loiselle was ejected from the game. Jason Pucciarelli made 30 saves for the Rangers on 34 shots. North York incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
