Huntsville downs Fayetteville in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Leland Fidler gave the Huntsville Havoc a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz when he scored 6:30 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Fayetteville faces elimination next time out.

Huntsville was led by Fidler, who racked up one goal.

The FireAntz were unable to stop the Havoc from sending pucks towards the net, and Huntsville eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Kyle Laughlin also scored for Huntsville. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Sam Cannata, Ian Boots, Mike Gurtler, Anthony Battaglia, Bill Baker, and Justin Cseter, who each chipped in one.

Fayetteville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The FireAntz's offense rang up 36 shots on the Havoc's net.

Fayetteville was helped by Tyler Matheson, who had one goal. Matheson scored 3:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville. Josh McQuade provided the assist. Fayetteville also got a goal from Corey Toy as well. More assists for Fayetteville came via Derek Elliott, Ben Contini, and Bobby Reed, who contributed one a piece.

Jesse Kallechy recorded 34 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The FireAntz's Marco Emond stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Fayetteville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
