Stormer Santana made 30 saves to complete the shutout and led the St. Catharines Falcons to a 4-0 win against the Thorold Blackhawks. The win gave St. Catharines a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Julian Luciani had one goal and two assists to lead the Falcons. Luciani scored on the power play 13:10 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. St. Catharines had gotten the advantage when Thorold's Myles Falasca was sent off for goalie interference. Ben Walsh provided the assist. The Blackhawks were unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. St. Catharines also got a goal from Aaron Taylor as well. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Jimmy Sheehan, Kyle Woodhouse, Koddi Quick, and Luke Karaim, who each chipped in one. The Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Thorold's Vinny Merante stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Blackhawks incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
