Nepean rolls over Pembroke, 4-1

The Nepean Raiders had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Pembroke faces elimination next time out.

Dalen Hedges had two goals and one assist to lead Nepean. Hedges scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Derek Diaz was put in the box for slashing. Mitchell Herlihey assisted on the tally. Hedges' next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Nepean with 2:51 left in the second period. Nepean had gotten the advantage when the Lumber Kings' Mike Milito was sent off for interference. Steven Johnston picked up the assist.

Nepean also got a goal from Richard Therrien as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Brent Norris, who had two and Brandon Watt and Kenneth Neil, who contributed one a piece.

Pembroke's offense rang up 36 shots on the Raiders' net.

Matt Zawadzki made 35 saves for Nepean on 36 shots. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lumber Kings' Darren Smith stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
