Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as MISSISSAUGA defeated CAMBRIDGE in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.The win by MISSISSAUGA clinched the best of five series at 3-2. MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four CAMBRIDGE power plays. CAMBRIDGE was unable to stop MISSISSAUGA from sending pucks towards the net, and MISSISSAUGA eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. MISSISSAUGA was led by Cassandra Clayton, who registered one goal. Clayton scored 4:46 into the third period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Stephanie Sucharda assisted on the tally. CAMBRIDGE stifled MISSISSAUGA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. CAMBRIDGE's offense rang up 38 shots on MISSISSAUGA's net. CAMBRIDGE was led by Hannah Askin, who scored the team's only goal. Askin scored 8:29 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Marcie Landman provided the assist.
