Caledonia downs Stratford in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Brandon Montour gave the Caledonia Corvairs a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Stratford Cullitons when he scored 17:38 into the extra period.

The win moved Caledonia to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Corvairs came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Caledonia was down 3-1 after a goal by Stratford's Ryan Watson at 6:58 in the second period. The Corvairs knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Tyler Norrie at 13:15 in the second period.

Caledonia's penalty kill excelled, as the Corvairs gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Caledonia's offense rang up 49 shots on the Cullitons' net.

Caledonia additionally got points from Spencer Gourlay, who also registered one goal and two assists, Norrie, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Mitch Brown, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Ryan Blunt and Simon Blythe, who contributed one a piece.

Stratford stifled the Corvairs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cullitons kept Caledonia's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justis Husak made 49 saves on 52 shots.

Stratford was led by Jake Ryan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Ryan scored short handed 7:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stratford. The Cullitons found themselves down a man on Shane O Brien's cross checking. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Jake Pleon, who had one and Mike Pleon, who had two.

The Corvairs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Nick Caldwell recorded 45 saves for Stratford. The Cullitons incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
