Higley's hat trick boosts Newmarket over Lindsay, 6-3

Calvin Higley netted a hat trick to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes over the Lindsay Muskies, 6-3.

Higley's first goal came 7:28 into the second period. He then added goals at 15:22 into the second and at 9:17 into the third.

The win by Newmarket clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

The Hurricanes kept Lindsay's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 32 saves on 38 shots.

Newmarket also got a goal from Chris Chiste as well. In addition, Newmarket received assists from David Savery, Jeff Murray, Brycin Morrison, Justin Maiolino, and Kyler Nixon, who each chipped in one and Brandon Francisco and Elliott Burlon, who contributed two a piece.

The Muskies were helped by Corey Jackson, who racked up one goal. Jackson scored 15:49 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Terry Snoddon picked up the assist. Matt McCartney also scored for Lindsay. More assists for Lindsay came via Vince Herlihey, Bryan Hignett, Dylan Fitze, and Dean Klomp, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Wintjes rejected 26 shots on goal for Newmarket. The Hurricanes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lindsay incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
