The Newmarket Hurricanes' Calvin Higley scored 15:58 into overtime to beat the Lindsay Muskies, 5-4 (OT). After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Lindsay faces elimination next time out. Newmarket almost relinquished a two-score lead. The Hurricanes made it 4-2 on a goal by Ian Farrell at 1:36 in the third period. The Muskies pulled to within 4-3 on a goal by Dean Klomp at 4:54 in the third period. Newmarket's offense rang up 39 shots on Lindsay's net. The Hurricanes were led by Chris Chiste, who grabbed three goals. Newmarket additionally got points from Farrell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Newmarket came via Justin Maiolino, who had three, Travis Dermott and Ryan Johnson, who contributed one a piece, and Kyler Nixon and Daniel Leavens, who each chipped in two. The Muskies kept Newmarket's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Wintjes made 35 saves on 39 shots. Lindsay had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances. Kurt Gottschalk also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Patrick Hamilton, Dylan Fitze, Felix Chamberland, and William Pelletier, who contributed one a piece. The Hurricanes incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tanner Davis rejected 34 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
