Roll's big game bests Cornwall in 5-1 Brockville winBrockville Memorial Centre Tue, Mar 19, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brockville Braves' Chris Roll had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-1 win over the Cornwall Colts. Roll scored at 7:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brockville and again while 7:50 into the first to make the score 3-1 Brockville.With the win, Brockville evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. The Braves were led by goalie Andrew Pikul, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Pikul managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.89 prior to the game. Brockville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cornwall to score on any of its three power plays. The Colts were unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Brockville eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Owen Gill also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Ben Blasko, who had four and Shane Riddell, Brandon Cole, Aaron Hickie, Hayden Hulton, and Ryan Walter, who each chipped in one. Cornwall was led by Andrew Ming, who scored the team's only goal. Ming scored 1:46 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Khalid Alli provided the assist. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jordan Piccolino rejected 32 shots on goal for the Colts. Cornwall incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
