Cleveland rips Toledo, 10-1

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks were firing on all cylinders against the Toledo Cherokee, and when the final buzzer sounded Jr. Lumberjacks emerged with a 10-1 win.

The win by Cleveland clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

The Jr. Lumberjacks got the win behind a great game by Toms Taurins, who had one goal and two assists. Taurins scored 9:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland. Jared Johnson provided the assist.

Cleveland stifled Toledo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cherokee were unable to stop the Jr. Lumberjacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Cleveland eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Cleveland additionally got points from Bo Zinner, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Mike Palasics, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Johnson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Cleveland also had goals scored by Louis Sawchik and Cameron Dimmitt, who each put in one and Andrew Mitch and Dallas Szustak, who scored two goals each. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Kyle Gonzalez, Pat Smith, and Nick Balavich, who each chipped in one and Scott Cuthrell, Andrew Sprouse, and Fred West, who contributed two a piece.

Toledo's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Jr. Lumberjacks' power play unit.

Nick Danczak made nine saves before being replaced by Joseph Moza, who took the win and made 19 saves. Cleveland incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nathan Miller recorded 25 saves for the Cherokee. Toledo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
