Melbourne Ice holds on for 3-2 win against Adelaide Adrenaline

Adelaide Adrenaline tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Melbourne Ice would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Georgia Carson put Melbourne Ice up 3-0 in the third period, but Adelaide Adrenaline pulled to within one on Sari Lehmann's tally 16:27 into the third period.

Fances McPhail had two goals to lead Melbourne Ice to victory. McPhail found the back of the net short handed 1:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Melbourne Ice and again while on the power play 4:58 into the third to make the score 2-0 Melbourne Ice.

Melbourne Ice stifled Adelaide Adrenaline's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Melbourne Ice could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Melbourne Ice averages 5.5 goals per game. By firing 25 shots on goal, Melbourne Ice exceeded the 5.5 shots it averages per game this year.

Melbourne Ice additionally got points from Carson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Melbourne Ice were Rylie Padjen, who had one and Shona Green, who had two.
