Fisher's goals lift Ayr to 4-1 victory over Lambeth

The Ayr Centennials relied on the scoring touch of Adam Fisher, who netted two goals, to beat the Lambeth Lancers, 4-1.

Fisher scored on the power play at 13:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ayr and again while on the power play 38 seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 Ayr.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Lambeth faces elimination next time out.

Ayr pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 54 penalty minutes.

The Centennials forced the Lancers goalie Logan Ferrington to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Ayr additionally got points from Brett Gibson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Alex Richard also scored for Ayr. In addition, Ayr received assists from Alex Mutton, who had two and Andrew Richard, Ben Poort, Jordan Eby, Jordan Pettitt, and Mike McKnight, who contributed one a piece.

Lambeth was led by Brandon Robbins, who scored the team's only goal. Robbins scored on the power play 10:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Lancers had taken the advantage when Ayr's McKnight got sent off for roughing after whistle. Kale Corbeth picked up the assist.

The Centennials' Mitch Figueirdo stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Ayr registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. Ferrington recorded 35 saves for Lambeth. The Lancers incurred 68 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors. Lambeth ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cody Wuytenburg was ejected from the game.
